چکیده
The 2022 Ms6.0 Maerkang earthquake sequence, Sichuan, China, occurred in an unexpected area with historically rare seismicity the Bayan Har block. Here we relocated inverted for focal mechanisms of larger events, and calculated rupture directivity sequence to reveal seismogenic structures this sequence. high-precision relocations indicate that consist several clusters are generally parallel nearby NW-trending Songgang fault, relatively small-scale conjugate faults also identified. migrated from cluster one south two north during Furthermore, hypocenters were largely located at 5–10 km depth, thereby highlighting buried. vertical fault planes consistent high-dip mechanism solutions seven events. A stress field inversion based on indicates a strike-slip environment was controlled by NNW–SSE-striking principal compressive stress. different directivities M s5.8 (southwestward) s6.0 (southeastward) events prove existence faults. event induced coseismic Coulomb change 1.6 MPa where subsequently occurred, triggered produced spatiotemporal pattern We therefore conclude previously unknown concealed associated main fault. complex their potential generate large earthquakes warrant need better understand seismogenesis seismic risks may be present.

Reconstruction strategies after the Wenchuan Earthquake in Sichuan, China
An intensive earthquake, the Wenchuan Earthquake of 8.0 on the Richter scale, struck western Sichuan, China on May 12, 2008. The earthquake significantly affected all industries in the quake-hit areas including local tourism. This paper provides suggestions for reconstruction after outlining findings on the various ways by which the earthquake affected the operations and viability of tourism in...
متن کاملSimulation on seismogenic environment of strong earthquakes in Sichuan-Yunnan region, China
Based on 43 Harvard CMT solutions in Yunnan region, GPS observations from 1999 to 2004 by China Crustal Movement Observatory Network, and results from SKS splitting and Pn fast wave anisotropy, we obtained the average directions of principle stress fields at different depths by average angle method. Then we further analyzed the coupling difference between geodynamic parameters in different tect...
متن کاملSymptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder among adult survivors three months after the Sichuan earthquake in China.
The study investigated the symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and associated risk factors among adult survivors 3 months after the 2008 Sichuan earthquake in China. One thousand five hundred sixty-three earthquake survivors in two communities participated in the study. The prevalence of probable PTSD was 37.8% and 13.0%, respectively, in the two communities that were affected diff...
متن کاملFactors Associated with Resilience of Adult Survivors Five Years after the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake in China
Given the paucity of quantitative empirical research on survivors' resilience and its predictors in the context of long-term recovery after disasters, we examined how resilience predictors differed by gender among adult survivors five years after the Sichuan earthquake. This was a cross-sectional survey study of adult survivors (N = 495; aged 18-60) living in reconstructed communities five year...
متن کاملStreptococcus suis Sequence Type 7 Outbreak, Sichuan, China
An outbreak of Streptococcus suis serotype 2 emerged in the summer of 2005 in Sichuan Province, and sporadic infections occurred in 4 additional provinces of China. In total, 99 S. suis strains were isolated and analyzed in this study: 88 isolates from human patients and 11 from diseased pigs. We defined 98 of 99 isolates as pulse type I by using pulsed-field gel electrophoresis analysis of Sma...
